Bio

Jiale (Gary) Hu is an Associate Professor and the Director of Research and Global Outreach in the Department of Nurse Anesthesia at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). He previously served as an anesthesia nurse and the Executive Director of Nursing Research at Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital in China. His scholarship focuses on enhancing knowledge translation in healthcare environments, with current projects encompassing AI integration in healthcare education and research, evidence implementation context and complexity, precision pain assessment and care, and global collaboration in nurse anesthesia education and evidence dissemination. Dr. Hu holds one patent, has published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles, and has delivered over 100 presentations at international, national, and regional conferences. He is frequently invited by institutions to mentor interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate students, supporting their development as emerging scholars and clinicians.
